QUALITY FRUIT SINCE 1992
Frutus was created in 1992 and is located in the center of the Pera Rocha region, in the municipality of Cadaval.
With 45 associated producers and an annual production of around 15,000 tons, Frutus holds a relevant position in the pear and apple market.
Currently, the production area reaches around 500 hectares, reflecting the growth and consolidation of the activity over the years.
99% of Frutus' production comes from areas with Protected Designation of Origin (Pera Rocha do Oeste PDO) or Protected Geographical Indication (Maçã de Alcobaça PGI).
Frutus facilities have grown gradually, keeping pace with the expansion needs resulting from the increase in production area and annual production. Over the years, the original facilities have grown in size and technological development.
The improvement of conservation systems has had a major positive impact on storage capacity, allowing us to reduce waste and maintain the quality of the fruit for longer. Currently, we have a storage capacity of 20,000 tons in controlled atmosphere and dynamic controlled atmosphere. In this way, we are able to have the best conservation conditions without sacrificing the organoleptic characteristics of the product.
The installation of photovoltaic panels across the extensive roof area of the facilities reflects a commitment to environmental sustainability, enabling the production of renewable energy, reducing the carbon footprint, and a more responsible use of natural resources, actively contributing to a more efficient and environmentally conscious activity.
